Chicago Pride South Side Festival 2019

Campaign Design

About

The South Side Chicago’s first-ever Pride fest launched in 2019. 3 Days. 5 Communities. 8 Events.

Pride South Side Festival was intended to jump-start an initiative to create safe spaces for LGBTQ+ people on the South Side of Chicago. As Lori Lightfoot became a serious contender for Mayor in 2018, organizers thought there was an appetite to have a robust festival on the South Side of Chicago.

Project Goal

Talooka Studio designed a visual experience that raised awareness for the multiple events and communities participating in the festival weekend.

The festival’s goal was to facilitate a conversation around queer-identifying support programming while having a good time. We designed a colorful and culturally specific brand identity intended to last the test of time for this annual event. The pride festival colors are used throughout the festival to help identify and navigate the various events divided over multiple days, with the main highlights on the local artist and community programming.
